In 1982, Mr. Alvarez opened the first El Pollo Supremo in the agricultural town of Oxnard, CA. Following an immediate positive response for having the healthiest and most flavorful chicken, he was joined by three friends. Together they set out to expand to new locations. By 1984, the original restaurant had been sold and the first New Jersey Location was established. The Spanish International Research Institute quickly voted El Pollo Supremo as the best fast food chicken restaurant in all of New Jersey and New York. The accolades have been numerous, but none as important as the multiple generations of loyal customers. Parents that bring their children who later grow up to bring their children are the truest measure of quality that continues to withstand the test of time. El Pollo Supremo is proud to currently serve five New Jersey Locations with delicious and authentic Latin American, Mexican, Venezuelan and Cuban cuisine using only the freshest ingredients. The chicken is marinated overnight with the original top-secret Alvarez family recipe and is char-broiled to perfection on the grill.
